Hey Morgan, yeah Long Island is expected to get hit a lot harder than New York City, but New York City, We are already getting it as well.

One of the big concerns officials say is the wind you look at this snow and it's it's really powdery snow.

But when the wind comes through it starts to pick it up and just whips it all into the air, creating really dangerous whiteout conditions.

If you look a little down the road here you can see where we've already lost a bit of a streetlight here in Brooklyn.

The Commissioner of Sanitation, he says they have some 280,000 tons of salt out and ready to go that they pretreated some 700 miles of Road in New York City.

1800 snowplows ready to try and tackle this event. But big picture, they say if you do not have to be outside, stay home today.

They're doing their best to treat these roads as the snow comes, but it is going to be a lot.

And if you see anyone who is out and about who doesn't have shelter, who might need some help getting to someplace warm, to call 311 so they can try and take care of them.

This, they say, is going to be a really big event. Again, it's the winds and sending this powdery snow up into the air that can cause a lot of problems.
