    One food that might help you out is probably already in your pantry oatmeal. Gastroenterologist chain Ross spoke to insider about the grain.

    Shaymin Sang a professor at North Carolina State A&T University told Time magazine, eating whole grain oats can prevent diabetes and lower cholesterol levels, which could prevent cardiovascular disease.
